Lorrie Brown and her husband, Gary Burtles, have been touring around the world as the number one UK tribute, endorsed by Vera Lynn herself.
The couple recently completed a 50 day tour in celebration of Dame Vera Lynns 100th birthday. She named the performance “Sincerely Yours. The Vera Lynn Story’, raising £10,000 for the Dames Children’s Charity.
Dame Vera explained that she had heard great things about the show and was very grateful to have been able to watch it herself at home and thought that it was ‘superb’.
The Dame was also grateful to Lorrie for keeping her memory alive and sharing her time with the troops during the Second World War to a much wider audience, as well as their recent charity work.
Lorrie said: “It has been an amazing experience meeting many people who had seen Dame Vera perform during the war, including one gentleman who used to drive her around in Burma.
“The people still love and remember her and all of them say Vera Lynn kept their spirits up during that terrible time.”
